Rafting and white water rafting are recreational outdoor activities which use an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other body of water. This is often done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water.

Dealing with risk and the need for teamwork is often a part of the experience. This activity as a leisure sport has become popular since the 1950s.

Rafts are inflatable boats made out of either multi-layered synthetic rubber (Hyperon) or vinyl fabric (PVC). They measure anywhere between 3.5m (11ft) and 6m (20ft) in length, and 1.8m (6ft) and 2.5m (8ft) in width, and are exceedingly durable. Rafting destinations in India Nature have been generous to India as far as rivers are concerned. The four most popular commercial rafting rivers are the Ganges,Beas, Indus, and Teesta. Uttaranchal in the north is home to many world-class white-water rivers, with easy access from Delhi.
